Quiet Day in Calvi

Thursday October 3 was a rain and rest day. High 17C.  Alain caught up on some needed rest for his cold- which is improving.  Fortuitously, the rain stopped mid-afternoon and we went out for a walk just as the sun was coming out.  It turned very nice.  We walked into town on a different street and walked to Place Christophe Colomb which is just below the walk up to the Citadel, where we are planning to visit on Friday.

We stopped at E Fritelle, an artisan Corsican biscuit shop.  The biscuits are made in the nearby village of Calenzana and the shop has been in business since 1984.

We bought some chestnut buscuits

Across the street was Annie Traiteur, which is packed with wonderful Corsican specialties and prepared foods.  We got lots of treats for our dinner.

It was then time for apèro hour on the waterfront.  We chose the same bar as the other day as there was still sun on the seats.

We headed back to the apartment for dinner.  Friday October 4 is our last full day in Calvi.  It is going to be sunny and we are planning a visit to the Citadel.

We head to Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica, very early Saturday morning.
